Windows Phone App Review: BarBuddy
BarBuddy is a dandy app to accept on your Windows Phone if you're not certain what you want to gild at the bar or make yourself. It also doubles as a novelty sobriety test. Information technology's not as all-encompassing of a mixology app as Cocktail Flow but BarBuddy ain't too shabby in its own right.
BarBuddy is laid out in a simple fashion so you won't waste too much time finding an adult beverage. The primary screen is where your potable concoctions volition appear. Just shake your Windows Phone (make sure you have a business firm grip on the phone) and a drink mix will announced at random. If what appears isn't to your liking, shake the telephone again (or tap the "Shake for a drink" button).
You lot can filter out the diverse alcohols from the iii-dot menu that will appear at the bottom of the potable recipe screen.
Now to the sobriety exam. We first must emphasize these are not an actual sobriety test but rather novelty games to give you something to practice in between drinks (an audacious soul could turn them into drinking games).
BarBuddy has two games that are to the side of the main screen. The first is a Reflex Test where assorted drinks appear on the screen and you have to tap them for points. Tap on a bar patron or miss the drinkable entirely and points are deducted.
The adjacent test is the Balance Test where you use your Windows Phone sensors to rest a martini. The longer you residuum the martini, the more points you collect. The longer the drink stays balanced, the harder things get.
Both tests use your point totals to evaluate your "sobriety". Sad affair is when your cold sober, these games volition make you feel drunkard as a skunk.
BarBuddy is a simple mode to find an adult beverage when your feeling adventurous or just don't know what you're in the mood for. The games are a nice touch and gives y'all something to pass the time while waiting for a friend. All in all, BarBuddy is not a turrible app.
Oh, if you don't run across your favorite drink or have a suggestion for the bill of fare, the programmer is open for suggestions. Simply tweet your mixology to @BarBuddyApp.
BarBuddy will run yous $.99 (no trial) and you tin grab your copy here at the Windows Telephone Market.
